Fuji Film Holdings said on Thursday it would invest 10 billion yen in the United States. Aiming at the popularization of AI, IoT and 5G in the future, the demand for semiconductors in the market will increase greatly.



Fuji Film Holdings, in order to expand its semiconductor materials business, will intensify the development and production of the most sophisticated semiconductor materials in the United States, as well as quality assurance equipment, in the three years from December 2018.

According to the Fuji Film Holdings press release, the company is responsible for the development and production of semiconductor materials in the United States, as well as the sales base of FUJIFILM Electronic Materials U.S.A., Inc., which will strengthen the development and production of the most sophisticated semiconductor materials, as well as quality assurance equipment. In the three years from December 2018, about 10 billion yen will be invested.

With the popularization of AI, IoT, 5G and the advancement of automatic driving technology, the demand for semiconductor in the market and the high performance of semiconductor are obvious to all. This investment in the United States is aimed at two FEUS factories in Arizona and Rhode Island.
